The Corvaliis Emergency Corps lawn social Mouday evening was a decided success in every way. The lawn under the maples north of the court house was tastefullj- decorated with the national colors bunting being stretched from tree to tree, enclosing a veritable Elysian. The fair entertainers had made generous provisions of ice cream, Manila punch, delicious cakes in various forms and many names. Their fairy grettoes wore early besieged by a hungry horde of loyal citizens, each vieing with his neighbor to sec who could store away the most of the good things provided. Long before the evening closed all supplies were exhausted. The net proceeds was : 52 3, which will help the boys in Ma nila. The corps is a credit to our place. The members of the Emergency Corps return many thanks to the Corvaliis Ice company, tne dray companies, T. White- iiarn, Hodes & Hall, A. Hodes, E. B. Horning. R. M.
