Notice is hereby given that the unsurveyed portion of Township 18 South, of Range 1 East, has jeen surveyed and the plat of the survey thereof will be filed in this office on Monday, September 1st, 1890. Also part of the heretofore unsurveyed portion of Township 22 South, of Range 12 West, to wit: Sections 9, 10,15,16,21,22,26, 27, 28, 33, 31 and 35, has been sur veyed and the plat of the survey thereof will be filed in this office on Monday, September 1st 1890. From and after said 1st day of September we will be prepared to receive applications for the entry of said lands in such heretofore unsurveyed portions of said Town ships. John II. Shupe, Register. "A bigger and better show than Bar numV is what the Portsmouth, O., Blade says. "Far less preten tious, yet far more meritorious, than the Banium show," is the way the Evanville Journal ex presses its views of the Robinson show. -Both of the big shows have been witnessed by our citi zens, and of the two shows, we sin cerely believe that Robinson's show is the best, and gave better satislaction than Bariiuin's," is the way the Peoria, 111., Democrat puts it. It is comments like those above that meet our view in all the leading journals. Ail say that Robinson's show has no equal. Remember that this big show will exhibit at Corvallis July 28. If so, do not fail to save sam ples of your products; bring them to our office in the Occidental block, Cor vallis, and we will do the rest. It is our intention to have an exhibit at the fair from Benton county, but we must hav the help of the farmers. The size of the farmers' alliance of North Carolina is scaring the politicians. They want a railroad commission and no free passes ior legislators. The last stone ot Ulm Cathe dral was put in place on May 31, and that cathedral now reaches higher than any other in the world, or 530 feet. Henry M. Stanley has at last reached the climax of earthly glory. A London firm has notifi ed him that it has named a brand of sausages in his honor. The queen of England has the largest bound book ever made. It is eighteen inches thick and weighs sixty-three pounds. It contains the jubilee addresses of congratulation. When President and Mrs. Cleve land were accustomed to attend the First Presbyterian Church, of Washington, the edifice used to be crowded and the society nourished. Now the attendance is so small that the trustees are unable to pay expenses. Sweden, Maine is an agricultural town and a prosperous one says the Lynn Items. The town's finances have been so well handled that the state and county taxes for the present year have been paid from the town treasury and no town tax is assessed.
