Congressman Warner, of Ohio, was recently asked if he thought the Bland bill could be repealed without a sub stitute being provided therefor. In response Warner said: "I do not be lieve it can, and I will say more, I d; not believe it ought to be. This is not a mere question of coining a few mill ions of dollars, more or less, in a year, but it is a question between bi-metalism ! mono-metalism. The present -coinage law is only a thread by which iiler is held in our monetary system. Strike this law down without any sub utitnte and ta-metiilism is overthrown, fiilvermen understand this peifectiy weli A change in the standard from both metals to one in face of the vast indebtedness that now weighs down modern nations woul4 be nothing less than a stupendous erime.
