A not true bill was found by the TJ 8
grand jury yesterday, in the case of Post
master T j Crsig, of Eugene, charged with
uiisupiHupriuuug government money.
Craig was charged with being short in his
accounts some $500. It was found, how
ever, tbat tbe cause of the shortage was
more due to negligence than any criminal
ity, and, as Craig a bondsmen made
bet amount, the charge waa quashed.

Mr. Burch has resigned as manager
of the Lawler mines and left this wtek
forCker D'Alene where he has accepted
the management of a mine at a big sal
ary and will now operate in that rich

The Lawier mines await the return of
Mr. Lawyer before operations will be re
sumed. On account of the recent oper
ation on his eyes this has been delayed,
but he is now expected home within a
month. Ket-ently an effort was made to
reorganize the company; but the stock
holders were not able to agiee, so Mr.
Marina, a wealthy Englishman who
jwned 70 per cent of the stock bought
out the other stockholder, except Mr
Lawler, and they will here after continue
the development ot their property.
