The evidence of Mrs. Moulton having ter minated the plaintiff's direct, Gen. Tracy, for the defendant, has read to the jury, n speech, which iu place of an opening of his case, is rather an elaborate summing np of it, and a large part of which is actually taken up with his, the orator's, own de fense. The public, which had agreed to put uotn xuton ana JJeecher on trial, will have to include Trocv also. among the inculpated ones; for Tracy seems to recognize that he. also, is on trial. Mrs.- ;Moulton's testimony strikes us as remarkably fair, conscientious ana enective. But while it was proper that she should be placed on tho stand, we cannot agree with those who clamor for the production of Mrs. Tilton as a witnoss. ,'J.be law excludes her, and every sentiment of decent re spect for her sex, forbids the idea that she should be paraded on the witness stand, to be made a show of. and to swear for or against ther own chastity. The Tilton-Beocher suit has de bauched tho public moaals of Brook lyn, to an extent which is already recognized in the proceedings of the law courts. Suits for divorce have greatly increased iu number ; and fol lowing Tilton's example, numhein of jealous husbands are commencing vrim. con. actions. Une new and notable case of conjugal difficulty is openly spoken of, involving two prominent! politicians. . and t lia w fn of ono. An epidemic of Uncleanli noss soems to have broken out in our sister city, and it would seem to be desirable that Brooklyn should h placed for while under quorantine, as a place of Infection. N. Y. A dressing which is at once agreeable, healthy, and eflectual for a hair. , It soon .;) restores faded ' to its orwmal color, with tho glqss and freshness of youth. . Thin hair is thickened, falling hair checked, and baldness ofton, though not always, cured by its use. Nothing can restore tho hair whero the follicles are do-: strayed, or tho glands atrophied and decayed; but such as remain can be saved by this application, and stimu lated into activity, so that a new growth of hair is produced. Instead of fouling the hair with a pasty sedi ment, it will keep it clean and viuorous. Its occasional uso will prevent the hair from turning gray or falling off, and consequently prevent baldness. Tho restoration of vitality it gives to the scalp arrests and moments tho formo- tion of dandruff, which is often so un cleanly and offensive, Free from those deleterious substances .which mako some preparations dangerous and inju rious to tile hair, the Vigor can only bonofit but not harm it. If wanted merely for, a HAIE DRESSING, nothing elso can bo found so desirable. Containing neither oil nor dye, it does not soil white cambric, and yet lasts long on the hair, giving it a rich, glossy lustre, and a grateful perfume. Prepared by Dr. J, C.
