ure there is as little harmony as between
the bead and the hand, while the legs
come in on their base and have, like
every other part, a story of their own.
Nine out of ten of the ordinary stone
cutters of the country would produce as
good a work as this of the pretty little

that naturalness and avidity which
mirk a young duck on his way to the

'Orleans, a few days sinee a well dressed
and handsome youth, of some eighteen
years of age appeared before one of the
city magistrates and asked if he could
engage his services to perform a marital
ceremony. The reply was in the affirm
ative, and the young man left, bnt short

ombre looking femala, middle-aged and

A distinguished gentleman, of Terre
Haute informed me that one" evening
last summer, when he was at the house
of a promiaaat Republican of the ekr,
he witnessed a number of little children,
from saven to twelve years of age, ma
sing themselves by playing charades.
