Away back in the early 1890 s
pictures were taken each year at
the Davis Brothers' sawmill south­
west of Beaverton. Now. brown
with age. they are on display in
the Argus windows, recalling to
mind scenes of nearly half a cen­
tury ago.
Four picture» shown represent a
year apiece from 1890 to 1893 One
shows a scene deep in the woods,
with five yoke of oxen working at
the logging end of lumber produc­
tion. Others depict scenes at the
mill, showing various workmen
and buildings. The pictures are
the property of W. E Davis, now
of Banks, route 1. also shown in
several of the pictures.
