A Message From T he
Audit Bureau of Circulations
What is the Audit
Bureau of Circulations:
O LAKE the guess-work out of advertising is tlie
sole object of the A. B. C., a co-operative asso
ciation made up of publishers, advertisers and
advertising agencies. It is a going and successful con
cern. It was formed twenty years ago and during these
years has saved advertisers hundred of thousands of
dollars by squeezing the water out of inflated circula
tion claims of some publications and endorsing those
which always operated on a paid basis.
What does the
A. B. C. do?
Through more than sixty auditors it audits and
verifies the circulation data of its newspaper and peri
odical members and sends out this information in the
form of standardized reports to local and national ad
vertisers and advertising agencies.
Who are its
members?
Newspapers, magazines, periodicals, business pa
pers and farm papers; local and national advertisers
and advertising agencies in the United States, Canada,
Mexico, West Indies and Hawaii—these make up its
membership.
