Mr. and Mrs. John Happen took their little daughter, Elisabeth, to Portland Tuesday of last week and had her tonsils removed. Gertie Jeihman was out from Portland last week visiting her fath er, Harry Jeibman. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. McGee and daughter, Lucile and Miss Anna Berry went to Salem to spend the week-end. Miss Ada Noaks of Portland spent the Fourth with her uncle, Harvey Lester, at Hillsboro. Orenco was almost depopulated Monday, many of our citizens being at Hillsboro and ail report a fine time. Mr. and Mrs. Elder Henachke spent Sunday at Columbia beach and Monday at Hillsboro. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Bryan came out from Portland Sunday to visit the former's parents and accompanied them to Hillsboro Monday. K. Sullivan, who came out from Kansas some time ago to visit his brother in South Orenco, was gone to Chehalis, Wash., to visit another brother.
