The colors in all their glory head ed the parade. The Washington county band, in its first public ap pearance, is thought to have made the most creditable appearance of any band to be organized in thi* county, nn<j furnished the martial airs for the marching veterans. A firing squad in uniform and fully equipped followed the band. Oth er organizations in line included the Hillsboro. Forest Grove and Banks |>o»ti of the American Le gion. the Ladieg" Auxiliary, Hie Oregon Military institute, the Boy Scouts under the leadership of Reverend Marcy, the Spanish American war veterans and the Grand Army of flic Republic. A dinner that even included "army strawberries, was served to veterans and their families b\ the Ladies' Auxiliary of HdUboro Post, assisted by the Girl Re serves, who waited on the table*. The drill by the Oregon Mili tary institute wn* the event ini mediately preceding the football game in he afternoon, and the ca dets under Captain Johnson per formed their drills with the pre- ■ vision of veterans to the great en I joyment of the oldtimers.
