Brandenburg,, of Portland, reports to the sheriff that while she wa driving to tor est Grove, Oct. 14, a stage driver crowded her off the highway be tween Hiilsborov and Cornelius. She says it wa very foggy and the stage tore off a fender and a wheel cap. The driver stopped and came back he had collided while passing, going in the ame direction and when Mrs... Bran denburg expostulated, laying she was driving careful because of the fog, he said, "Fog, God, what do you mean, fog?" She writes that she ha driven eleven year and this is her first accident, and she blames the stage man. He has not yet reported. Francis B. Brooks, of Lafay ette, report that L. Anderson pased him at high speed, near Forest Grove, and damaged his car. Both were going into the Grove. Geo. Heitsman complains .that a county truck struck his horse, which was tied behind his wagon The team was going to Cove Or chard. He fixes no blame. Francis Hatcher, a small boy, was run over by an auto driven by William Rollins, last Friday. on Oak Street. Rollins had just started when he says the Hatchet boy tried to grab hold of the car, He was thrown under one of the rear wheel and one of his. legs was broken. ' The lad was taken to the Forest Grove hospital, where Dr. Dinsmore reduced the fracture. Mr. Rollins , say the lad was at fault. UNCLE RUSE Uncle Rube, a four-act comedy- drama, by Portland Odd Fellows will give HiUsboro an evening at the Liberty Theatre, Monday, Oc tober ts: The play comes here under the auspices of HiUsboro Muscovites, and the Odd Fellow- are giving it a great support. The general public is invited, of course, and it is expected that the theatre will be filled, as many are coming from the outside lodges of Washington county. The play Is a reproduction of rural Vermont, with the City villain thrown bl and thrown out at the end.
