For the fiscal year there was but one case of arson reported that of Robt., O. J. and Jos. Itel, of Tualatin, who pleaded guilty to burn in it a dwelling and auto, and were sentenced to seven years each in the penitentiary and pa ruled during good behavior. There were two deaths from fire for the 12 months Marie MaitUnd, an eleven months' old child at Cherry Grove. The house caught fire from a red-hot stove. the blare catching the wall paper. The other fatality was when Pe ter T. Johnson, of near Tualatin, w as burned up in a fire caused by the explosion of a gas lamp. The report contains a note of the conviction of C. A. Elwell, well known here, who Is serving time for postal embetslement. Elwell set fire to hia store at Jen nings Lodge, Dec. 29, 1919, standing trial fter he had con fessed. He was found guilty and sentenced to two years. THERRIAULT FLEMING It. C. Therriault, of Eureka While the announcement comes rather as a surprise, it was not unexpected, close friends having given out the word that the wed ding was to be held this Fall, or words to the effect that Miss Fleming, w ho has been a teacher in the local schools, w ould return this Fall, but not to teach. At anv rate, it looks as though they had tried to "slip one over," but the Sandpoint papers evidently were not consulted and the news leaked out.
