Fathers and mothers of service men know this. They know thnt he is honest, capable and energetic. He has served the will do well to hunt the ballot for that "five per cent interest meas ure" and vote '"No." The meas ure is visionary in the eitrcnic and should get no support from those who w ish the state to pros per. If it shall pass capital head ed this way for industrial pur poses will golo other states. I'n der such a law, there could be no expansion along industrial line. Oregon is too progressive to tie the state up in a sack, and send money to adjacent atates, and the measure should be overw helming ly defeated. The Argus holds no brief for money loancr, for he will take care of himself. But it uoc not wish to see the state hampered by legislation of this kind. Washington, California and Idaho are watching Oregon, and gleefully hoping the meas ure will pass Tor it will mean in dustrial development for them w hile Orcgou w ill suffer.
