LUCINDA BALLARD Mrs. I.ueinda Mauxcy Ballard died nt Seattle, May 28, li20. after tin illness of ten mouths. She was the widow of Irving billiard, ami n sister in law of Capt. V. It. Ballard, after whom Hallartl, Wash., was named. She, was tbe daughter of the late William Mauxcy. who settled on a donation land claim at West Union, in pioneer ilavs, and prac tically siieut bcr girlhood in Washington County. )ho .was horn in 1S. ller husband whs an attorney in Se attle, and settled there when the Queen City was a hamlet. He died U) years ago. Since her hushaiul's death she lived with her daughter, Mrs. Nelson Mar getts, whose husband is Col. Mar getts. on Gen. Pershing's staff in the American .forces, A. E. F and now stationed at Coblcum. She w:is in France when the great war broke. She is survived by her daugh ter. Mrs. Margelts. and three sons, Irving M.
