Let no man shirk his plain duty. The Argus would sugge.st that the Mayors of the two eities also attend at bast one dav's session. .Senator Lodge, one of the re aetionarv senators, is doing his level best to stultify his country by assaulting AVilson in his ef forts at peace making of the proper order, and it is only what is to be ex peeled from gentlemen of his ilk. He is ably seconded, is Lodge, by Mr. Philander Knox, w ho misrepresents Pennsylvania ' in the senate. But the Argus is ! of the opinion that Wilson and ' ln's ideas of government will live when the memory of Lodge and Knox lias faded to nothingness. What this will mean to a densely pop ulated community will he worth while, for it will mean extensive i road building hereafter, as soon as people rvalue the worth of the highways that van be travelled Winter and Summer. There is no propaganda so mueh of real worth for road building as a gooei highway, ami while Hard surfaee can not be built at this time on the laterals it will mean at h a-t a demand for bejter than dirt roads in order that producers in iv reach the main arteries. Then" is a decided improve- iih nt in the real estate situation in tins section, so tar as tarm holdings are concerned and al roadv several farms Have chansred hands since the armis tiee. While the war was on far mers hail but little desire to makt a change from the F.ast to the West, but now that peace is here we shall have hundreds of home hunters in the West. The fact that we are to have a paved ar tery into the county from the lan;et city on the North coast. will always be a help to realty holders and farmers in Washing ton Count v. An authority in the Review of Reviews says that the Flu epi demic has cost us mortality to the extent of 300,000- or five times the number of our men lost in the w ar.
