Mr. and Mrs. James Coulter, of South Bend, Wash., have pur chased property on Washington St., between 7lh and 8th street. A cement walk lias just been con structed and other various im provements are being made. Mrs. Coulter was formerly Miss Per rinc, a milliner of the city, while Mr. Coulter is a brother of Chas. There are rumors about that the Freshmen are going to give upper classmen a party soon. We are all hoping that these rumors are not false. The Victory Hoys and Victory Girls campaigns have been com ing along nicely. They both have over one hundred dollars pledged and the irls are ahead' of the boys by several hundred dollars. Although most of the students h ive subscribed, there are still a few who have not pledged. Arc you with the many or the few? The uniforms for the II. II. S. M. T. C. have been ordered, ami all the boys are looking forward to the day when they can sport one. The orchestra is practicing ev ery Wednesday night, and under the guidance of Prof. GrisSen is progressing rapidly. We are all waiting for the first appearance. We are also hoping to have a male quartette this year, and there is no reason why we can't. Ail the fellows who can sing or think they can, should make a try for it. The students are planning to start basket ball soon. The boy held a meeting Tuesday evening. and succeeded in getting a good number to sign up for the team. The girls w ill hold their meeting soon. There are several of last year's players on each team, and good results are expected the coining season. M. C. Hewitt last evening fin ished moving a residence for S. J. Galloway, of l.eisyville.
