GRADING STARTS
Otto Ilrose, of Timber, possessed
of lots of experience in road
building, came down Sunday, and
on Monday started preparations
for grading and making the fills
on the State Highway between
here and Itcaverton. Otto start
ed at Rock Creek Tuesday morn
ing, and will use teams from the
farmers as rapidly as they get
freed from farm use. The men
will be paid per day, and the
teams and drivers will receive
$(1 daily. The court thinks there
will be plenty of men and teams
to get the work done in short
order, bids for the construction
of the oiling bridge at Rock
Creek appear for the flrat time
this week.
The big grader will cover sev
al miles of the work on the
route.
