The estate of Melchoir Durst,
who cied in Etst Washington
County, Sept. 22, has been ad
mitted to probate. The property
in this county is worth $1500,
and there is venltv in Clackamas
county worth $1000, besidii per
sonalty worth $150. The heirs
are the widow, and a son Wil
lard, aged 11 years. The widow
is willed all the property except
ing $100, which goes to the son.

Jas, S. Barnes, of Sherwood,
died at Portland. Oct. 2. from
blood poisoning, superinduced by
stepping on a rusty nail. He
was born at Mendota, 1 1 Sept.
11, 1859, and was married at Red
Cloud, Neb., in 1883. Th fami
ly came to Oregon in 1891, and
settled near Sherwood. He was
a successful onion raiser, and at
one time was president of the
Onion Growers' Ass'n. He is
survived by his wife and eleven
children.
Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Beamia, of
near Greenville, were in the city
Monday. After 4(1 years of resi
dence on the Greenville farm.
Mr, Beam is, accompanied by his
wife, will leave the last of the
eek for California. They will
top at Long Beach a while, and
intend going to Australia unless
their plans change.
The estate of Barbara Kessler,
who died Aug. 28. was tiled Sat
urday. The property is valued
at about $5000. and the heirs,
her children, are M. J. Kessler,
a son; Margaret Fehrenbacher,
of Freewater. Ore., and Eliza
beth Richardson, of Portland,
daughters. M. J. Kessler U the
administrator.
Wm. Hansen, of Scholls, was a
Millsboro visitor SaturJay. He
says that he had a big run for
both of his threshers, and he
found the best yield on the Sims
ranch, near Parminpton, where
36 acres ot oats went 104 bushels
to the acre, machine measure.
Dr. and Mrs. J. O. Coleman,
of Bank?, were in town Satur
day, enroute home from Port-'
land, where they went with Roy I

hading logs above Banks, last!
week. Roy is now at the Good '
Samaritan Hospital.
