His

iu the early fifties and young
Stott spent Ida eaily life at
Heaverton and titiston. later
studying law. He was a.linitted
lo praetiee and opened an ofliee
in Portland. The greater part of
his days, however, were spent in
Washington County.
He was educated nt Pac'fic
University, and practiced law a
Jew years at bumpttr. returning
to the Willamette Valley in 1908.
Sam Stott had a wide acquaint
ance in the stat e, and his brother.
Judge Kaleiirh Stott, was one of
Oregon 8 noted jurists.
He is survived by his sister.
Mrs. Ihompson. and two neph
ews, F. S. Aleyers. of Portland's
postmastership, and Plowden
Stott.
Stott wa3 well known in Hills
boro, particularly among the
pioneerage.
The funeral took place Friday
and the remains were taken to
Gaston for interment.

was in the city Friday. He re
cently received a photo of his
brother, Carl, aged 41 years
who is serving in the German
army on the Danish frontier. He
writes that they still have plenty
of rations, and from his evident
