John Purves. of South Tualatin,
was buried a week ago last Sat
urday. He was aged over 76
years at death. Deceased came
here from the Dakotas, and had
been a resident of Washington
County several years. He leaves
a w idow and three sons to mourn
his loss: John, of San Francisco;
Robert, in charge of the North
ern Pacific Yards at Seattle, and
Charles, a logger at Eugene.

the support of the coming school
and fair, next Fall. Everybody

Dr. J. P. Tamiesie is now in
Paris, and he writes that while
the weather was not bad last
week, still there was a great deal
of chill in the atmosphere. The
Doctor expects to visit nearly
100 hospitals in the French capi
tal, and he does not know how
soon he will leave the great
r rench city.
Ole Olson, of Olson Station,
was up Tuesday. He says the
people down his way still hope
for trie tunnel through Portland
Mountain, but they are a trifle
skeptical over getting it. It
would mean a great deal for his
section, as fifteen minutes would
then take them into the city of
Portland on rail lines.

service begins promptly at 7:45, and
