Argus and Oregonian, $2.25 Emmotts have a fresh lot Krinkle corn flakes, 3 for 25 cents, Albert Tozier, now visiting at acoma, writes the Argus as follows: Dear Editor: In reading of the recent death of Washington County's treasurer it came to me that another county treasurer ied suddenly at Hillsboro. It was the late Hyer Jackson, who also had been county judge. He eft his office in good health one evening and passed awav that night His last words were: 'The keys are in my pocket. he money is in the safe." Well do l remember, as a boy, his cheerful words as he passed me that evening: "This is a verv good world, isn't it, Albert? You seem to be doing yourpart to make it cheerful." I noticed in the last Argus, mention of the death of Thos. Paulsen. There was a time when hos. Paulsen did all the printing for the state of Oregon on a quar ter medium jobber, when the late L. Stinson was state printer. I recall an incident in Thos. Paul sen's life that shows the honesty and fairness of the man. About the session of 1905 he held a com mittee clerkship. While going to the state house he fell, and was laid up for three weeks of the session. When the pay war rants were drawn for the clerks he was allowed full time, but this he would not accept and re turned to the state treasury about $47. or the amount allowed him for the time he did not work possibly not a similar case on record.
