Lindgren, of Timber. Mr. Lindgren had a very strong petition and pub- ished according to law. Rev. Daniel Staver and associates, of Gales Creek precinct, circulated a remonstrance, and as is gener ally the case, many signed the opposing paper who had also signed the petition. When the fight simmered down to an act ual count, Lindgren had about four of a majority, and he was given the license. The saloon would be nowhere near Gales Creek, and would be on the line of the Tillamook road now being built by Mr. Lytle. However, the Gales Creek minis try has always strongly opposed a license in tnat precinct, and ever made a desperate tight when a man asked for a saloon privi lege. The November election in Gules Creek registered a vote of 1 in favor of Home Rule; beat prohibition 52, and beat the pro posed search law by 54 majority.
