CELEBRATE GOLDEN WEDDING
MR. AND MRS. JOHN QU1NCY ADAMS
Mr. and Mrs. John Quiney Adams, residing near Hillsboro,
celebrated their golden weddin.ee April 17th. Mr. and Mrs.
Adams were married in Bates County, Missouri, in 18G0, and
in 1875 removed to Mt. Pleasant, la., residing there until
1881, when they came to Oregon, arriving at Portland April
17, 1884. After a few weeks' stay there they moved to Hills
boro. and have lived in Washington County for the past twen
ty six years.
They have seven children living, all being present to wish
them many more anniversaries. The sons are James B.
Adams, Farmington, Chas. E. Adams, Hillsboro; and the
daughters are Mrs. L. B. Rice, Rainier. Ore.; Mrs. Mary T.
Hoover, Beaverton; Mrs. Edw. Boge. Farmington; Mrs. John
Boge, Farmington; and Miss Mattie Adams, Portland.
Mr. and Mr. Adams received many appropriate gifts, and
the children each presented them with a five dollar gold
piece. Among those present were Messers and Mesdames J.
(J. Adams, J. B. Adams, John Boge, Edw. Boge, Mrs. L. B.
Rice, Mrs. Mary Hoover, Miss Mattie Adams, Miss Emily
Hoover. Chas. Adams, J. C. Hoover, Veldon, Evart, and
Bevyn Boge, Clarence, Elda, Briee and John Quiney Adams,
Jr., Vaden, Ruth and Marion Boge.

interest lasts. The public is cor

A. Reverman, of Centervilie,
and who is road supervisor for
his district, was in yesterday.
He says that the good weather
has done much for the roads, and
that this is well as it is almost
impossible to get road help.
J. J. Hartley and Elmer Mays,
of Glencoe, returned the last of
the week from an auto trip into
Polk, Benton and Marion coun
ties. Andrew Eggiman, of near
Cedar Mill, and who is on top in
the dairy business, was in town
Tuesday, getting out bills for an
auction sale.
The blue and gold flowers are
again in evidence on the court
house square.
J. C. Miller, the prune grower,
of north of Glencoe, was in town
Tuesday.
John Loftis, of the Arcade
district, was in the city the last
of the week.
Ice cream delivered to any
part of the town. Remember
we have Hazel wood. Both tele

ery. Herman Bishup, of above Moun
taindale, where he is installing
his new sawmill, was down to the
city Tuesday.
