at the family borne, on Main street,
Sunday night, after being a sufferer

Deceasod waa born at Union
Springe, N. V., April S, 1S-10, and
was married to the surviving bus-
band in Portland, March 16, 1H!K!
Mra. Hare's maiden name was
Anthony, and sh was a cousin of
Susan B Anthony, and also a cou
sin of ex-Senator Anthony, of Rhode
Island. A brother. Charles E
Anthony, of San Diego, Cal sur
vives of her Immediate family. A.
w. Anthony, nephew, and a min
ing engineer of Portland, and Mra
franc McCorniack and Mrs. Kdilh
Buckler, niece, of Portland, are
ber other surviving relatives on the
Coast.
Mrs. Hare had been a member of
lbs Presbyterian and Congrega
tional churches since girlhood. She
was a member of the Kastern Star,
the local grange, and a member of
the Grand Lodge, Degree of Honor.
Funeral services were held at
the family residence at 10 o'clock.
Tuesday, by Rev. Howard Gilpat
rick, pastor of the Congregational
oburch, after which the remains
were taken charge of by Tualatin
Chapter, No 31, Order of the East
ern Star, of which order deceased
was a beloved member. At the
conclusion of the lmpreaeiv6 cere
monies at the grave, the remains
were interred in Masonic cemetery,
Mrs. Hare had a kind and sunny
nature, which endeared her to all
with whom she came in contact,
and she will be greatly m'eeed. A
large concourse of friends and rela
tives were present at the last sad
riles.

Mrs, Sarah Jane Bennett died at
her home in Portland, Monday
Maroh 23, aged. 7 8 years. Deoeaeed
was a former resident of this coun
ty, living near Greenville for many
years. She was tha mother of 18
ohildren. She leaves a husband
and the following surviving ohil
dren: Mrs. Charles Mitchell and

A pleasant surprise partr was
given in honor of the anniversary
of the birthday of M. H. Workman,
of near Beaverton, on the night of
Ht. Patrick's day, March 17th. The
evening waa pleasantly passed with
song, instrumental music and so
cial conversation. Refreshments
were served at a late hour, after
which the guests dispersed. Those
present were: Mr. and Mrs. Fitz
patrick, Ernest Olson, Fred Ieasie,
Mr. and Mrs. harl Dillard and
children, Mr. and Mrs. Hhayden,
Mr. and Mrs. David Harper and
children, Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Ba
ker, Mr. and Mrs. Workmen and
