of dales Creek, has had more than
it share of grief. Within a few
months three sons have pained
away. One of the brother died a
few mouths ago; then lvi was ac
cident ly killed over on the Wilson
river; and Arthur died at 1'ortland

Calvin Hailey, Blooming's post
master, and who is in his 74th year,

trip to his hoyhocd home in Penn

in California and Nehrsska. The

Bailey found many chumps where
he was wont lo dig for fish worms
back in old Pennsylvania.

leaving the bench he went to Salt
Lake City, where be practioed law

years ago he went to Spokane
where he made a specialty of min
ing-law cases.

engaged in sending out notices to
all who paid none of their tax last
spring, tbe list embracing several
hundred. In this plan he is follow
