The town . has no accomodations for a Fourth ol July celebration; no place of amusement for the summer months, and the need of the grove, owned by the city, is manifest, each year There is a grove, southeast of town which will answer the purpose, and its owner no doubt will feel dis posnl to make the town a liberal proposition toward having it made over to the public. William, the fmrteen year old son of Mr. and Mrs. William Busse of Gales Creek, died last Saturday alter a ten months' sickness. J. W. Atwater, a nephew of John and Istac Baldwin, cf Forest Grove, died at Portsmouth recently and was buried at the Naylor ceme tery today. He was 43 y-ars of - age and leaves a wife and two children.
