The little two and one-half year
old daughter of Mr. and Mr. N. II.
Sheidel, who reside northwest of
town, near the Wren donation,
waa shot by her brother, aged
seven, Tuesday afternoon, the bul
let from a 22-calibre rifle passing
into the child's right lung. The
boy was handling the rifle; when
the litlie girl ran in front of him.
the gun was discharged, and the
child fell before the lad realized
what had happened. Drs. F. A.
and F. J. Bailey were called, and
they notified the parents that there
were twenty chances for death
where there waa one .of recovery.
The little one was badly shocked
b the incident, and kept saying,
"shot, shot." The bullet could not
be reached, and had doubtless
lodged in the lung, as frequent
hemorrhages led to that conclusion
At last reports the child was etui
alive and in a critical condition.
