method is not representative; in the
second place, there is too much op

In this way many a senator is
elected by methods that are shady,
and this, following from one year
to another, is 'bound to leave its
najghty impress upon the people
at large. A bill has passed the
house of representatives to have all
senators elected by the popular
vote. It will hardly pass the sen
ate. It will more than likely be
killed in the committee room. The
press of the country is rapidly com
ing to the support of the popular
election method. Oregon should

commercial, and all that. He is
the embodiment pro pria of govern
f nient by commercialism and favor

goes without saying. He would
