EASTKRN society circles have
been violently agitated by the
announcement that Mrs. Marion
B. Stephens, heiress to a fortune of
vitch Vonsiatsky. engineer Jn the
employ of the Baldwin locomotive
works of Philadelphia. She is 45 and
he Is 23. He served as an engineer
with the army during1 the bolshevik
fighting In Russia. They met in
Paris. They were married in a Rus
sian church in New ork and are
planning to reside in Vonsiatsky's
cottage, while he is to continue in
his present position.
Mabel Cody, a niece of the late
"Buffalo Bill" Cody, is a member of
a flying circus. She does a "dance
of death" on the w-ings of a speeding
airplane.
Washington had a tremendous job
to dig itself from under the record
mantle of snow which fell on Janu
ary SO. A picture of the capitol,
taken next day. shows the puny ef
forts of a horse-drawn snow plow
toward removing the drifts.
The United States navy is testing
out a new Curtis torpedo and bomb
ing plane of mammoth proportions.
It Is said that this should prove an
aerial weapon of tremendous powers
of destruction.
Margot Asquith, wife of the former
premier of Great Britain, has ar
rived in this country and started on i
lecture tour. At her first appearance
in New Tork she was introduced by
President Nicholas Murray Butler of
Columbia universitiy, who is shown

Both wives remained faithful to
Willard W. Long, New Albany, Md.,
during the trial which resulted in a
sentence of two to five years in
prison for bigamy. Proof of this is
seen in the photograph where Long
is shown with Marjorie Long and
Mary Lee Long, , the two wives.
