OCEAX PARK NOW THRONGED V Season of Parties, Hikes - and Dances "Well on Its AVay. OCEAN PARK. Wash.. July 16. (Special.) A season of parties, hikes, bonfires, fishing trips and dances is well on its way at the park this year. Most of the cottages now are open and guests are being entertained ex tensively. Dinces in the hall are held two nights a week and on other eve nings parties of the younger set motor to resorts along the beach. Miss Christine Bass will be hostess for a large house party at her home at Oystervllle to meet Miss Margaret Rempel and Miss Mary Ellen Linsley of Los Angeles, who will be her house guests for a month. Other guests will be Lewis and Frank Coulter and Edward Everett Horton. Mrs. R. H. Back and children of Vancouver, Wash., are guests at the George DuBoise cottage. Rebecca, Alice and Richard DuBoise ere spending the summer at the park. Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Clair and daugh ter. Miss Elsie Clair, are occupying their summer cottage. Mrs. W. M. Hill. Newcomers at Bar View, especially those on their first excursion to a sea shore, are strongly attracted by the marine life set out for display by every ebbing tide. On the rocks. Just below the cottages, star fish, barna cles, sea anemones, whelk, hermit crabs and muscles, as well as dozens of other easily detected sea organ Isms, delight the groups of vacation ist who never tire of scrambling; from rock to rqck in search of some ining new. The contrasting quiet after the Fourth of July week-end has now given way to the rising crest of the mid-season business. Miss Hazel Cox of Portland is spending a week at Wise's cirao. No. 7. With her is Laleta Dennis of Portland D. C. Riley and R. E. Morton of Portland were recent visitors at Bar View. Mrs. L. A. Wood of Portland enjoyed a week-end visit at the Cummings cottage. Among others registered from Port land are: Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Reding ton and F. C. Wirfs. Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Shaylor and Mr. and Mrs. J. Ted Smythe are spending a 'month at the Idyle Wylde camp. Another group at the Wise Way was composed of Bert Dennis, Miss Caleta Dennis and Hazel Cox, all of Portland. TWIN ROCKS SOCIAL CENTER Dances, Dinner Parties, Bonfires and Other Pleasures Enjoyed. TWIN ROCKS, Or.. July 16. (Spe cial.) Social activity has always been one of the distinguishing features of this resort, and the season's series of dances, dinner parties, bonfire sup pers and out-of-doors breakfasts, where friends get together to enjoy the good things of vacation life, has been in full swing for a week or more. On one evening recently six large bonfires were noted at the same time. About each was the usual group of merrymakers, singing, toasting marshmallows, preparing coffee or perhaps trying some original stunts to relieve the repetition of the more commonly popular pastimes for such occasions. A breakfast was arranged on the beach by Miss Erma Ewart. who was a recent visitor at Twin Rocks. Those enjoying Miss Ewarts hospitality were Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Lawrence, Dorothy Lawrence, Ruth Bratney, Mrs. "Ewart, Vernon Lawrence, Duane Lawrence. Mrs. Winnie Steele, Eliza beth Steele, Gertrude Steele, Mr. and Mrs. Freeman McNary and Charles McNary. Among visitors at Twin Rocks who recently returned to Portland were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Graham of Pine Knot station, Portland. Mr. Graham is contemplating constructing a resi dence on his property on the shore of Ocean lake at Twin Rocks. A group of young folk who enjoyed an outing recently at Rock View villa consisted of Norma Helgesson, Minnie Helgesson, Margaret" Callan, Adina Fuhrer, Bud Kays and Ivan Schultz.
