Flags clipped two-fifths of a second from the record for seven furlongs and reduced it to 1:24 2-5. Broom- spun breezed a mile in 1:36 1-5, a against the best previous performanc in 1:37 2-5, and Fair Phantom sprinted a half mile in 0:46 3-5, or two-fifths of a second better than other efforts. Mrs. Rupp's name will be the - fifth representing the Grays Harbor club to be placed on the trophy, the other four being Mrs. J. B. Bridges, Mrs. W. J. Patterson. Mrs. H. P. Brown and Mrs. A. L. From an entry list of 40 con testants, the play in the annual three- cushion handicap billiard tournament at the Rialto billiard parlors has dwindled to four players who are scheduled to tangle this week for the first, second, third and fourth prizes. Harry Gardner, Sam GoodlandV Paul St. Germain and L. J. Walby are the players. The first three mentioned have won eight contests and lost one, while the fourth has won seven and lost two. Walby appears to have the high-run prize safely stowed away, as his mark jot nine made early in the tournament has not been touched by any of the other players. Gardner, George Burke, Joe McCloskey, Walbv and K. B. Wanless are tie for sec ond high-run prize with high runs of six each. SEATTLE, Wash.. May 7. Two Pa cific coast conference records were broken In the Oregon-Washington dual track meet here today, won by the University of Washington. 88 to 43. Arthur Tuck of the University of Oregon set a new mark for the javelin throw at 102 feet 4 inches, and Gus Pope of Washington threw the discus 145 feet 4 inches. Tuck addfd an Inch to his own rec ord in a special throw of 192 feet 4 inches at the close of the meet. Tuck broke the national intercolle giate and club record of 192 feet 2 inches, made by Milton Angier of the Illinois Athletic club at Chicago in 119. Per formance of two Olympic games con testants features the dual meet here this afternoon between Washington State college and the University of Idaho, which the former won, 79 points to 62. Eldon Jenne. Olympic pole vaulter, was the individual point winner for Washington State, with 13 points. He was first in the pole vault, the broad Jump and the high Jump. Elon (Pat) Perrine, another Olympic contestant, starred for the University of Idaho, with 13 points. In the two-mile race Rowles, Washington State college made the distance in 9:47, two seconds under the northwest conference record. added to the official list of swimming and diving chumpiomships. Thomas Hickey Jr, ex-pitcher for the San Francisco Baseball club and Santa Clara college athlete, was electro cuted today at Biggs. Butte county, according to a special dispatch re ceived by the San Francisco Call. No details of his death were given. Hickey played on the Santa Clara college rugby team which defeated Stanford, and on graduation In 1919 signed up with the Seals. According to relatives he turned down contracts with the New York Nationals and Philadelphia Americans while in col lege.
