Whose Wedding Was a THE marrtagrs of Ulsi Helen Hob eyman nd Arthur Trumbell Brown was a brilliant and smart social event Wednesday evening at the residence of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Honeyma n. In St. Clair street. Tbe bouse with Its spacious rooms was a bower of spring foliage and flowers, with hundreds of pink roses, which made a perfect background for the lovely bride and her dainty at tendants. The bride was gowned In a hand some ivory satin trimmed with heav y embroidered tulle, and cut along a simple line, with court train, and full length yeil of the same tulle, and held in place with a Russian coronet. She carried a shower bouquet or or chids, bride roses and gardenias. Miss Nadine Caswell, as maid of honor, was a picture in a changeable silk, in gold and green, with hat to match, while the two bridesmaias, Miss Mary Bacon and Miss Blizabetb Peacock, were dressed in frocks ot the same silk, only in gold and apri cot, with hats to match, and all three carried old-fashioned nosegays of violets. ' The bridal party was led by little Barbara Aya. who was an adorable little figure, as flower girl, and Thomas Honeyman Hindman carried the train of the bride. The bride was given In marriage by her father, the service being read by Dr. A. A. Morrison before the fire place in the drawing room, which was banked with greens and roses to form an altar. Walter Brown attended his brother as best man. Tbe bridal march was played by, a oft string orchestra. Mrs. luln anl Miller sang just before the service. After the ceremony, a reception was held, when Mr. and Mrs. -James Honeyman received with the - bridal party, Mrs. Honeyman was very hand some in a robe of orchid satin, with beautiful black lace. Presiding at an artistically ar ranged supper table were: Mrs. Al fred Aya, Mrs. Charles Hindman, Mrs Kancy Zan Scott and Mrs. Adolpb Keu. In the library punch was served ty Mrs. Dallas Bache. Mrs. Russell B. Caswell and Mrs. W. B. Peacock. - Several hundred people, including (fee family and old friends, had the pleasure of being present at . this un usually Deautuul wedding. Mrs. Brown Is a popular member ef fhs young set, a member of one of Portland's old And honored families. and was a student at St- Helen's hall and Miss Catlin's school, finishing at Miss Spence's school in New York city. Mr. Brown Is a son of Mr. and Mra George T. Brown, who have recently come to Portland from Kockford, 111, to make their home. After a wedding trip south, Mr. and Mrs. Brown will make their home is Portland. Lady Alrd of TorontS, who has been guest at the Benson hotel with Sir John Aird, was honor guest Tuesday afternoon, when Mrs. F. C. Malpas asked about 40 intimate friends to have tea with her and Lady Aird. Mrs. A- & Rockey and Mrs. William MacRae presided over the attractive lea taoie. Mrs. Jack Leonard Riddell and her small daughter, Patricia, are spending a couple of months with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Malpas, while Captain Riddell is on recruiting duty In South Dakota. Wortman will be a mem ber of a party of seven sailing from San Francisco March on the steam ship Korea for the orient, which will be the first part of a trip around the world. Dr. and Mrs. Harry Hunting ton Powers, the well-known lecturer, will also be members of this party. They plan o visit the orient, Egypt and Europe, and probably wilL, be away a year and a half. V Word has been received In Portland from Mr. and Mra Albert Browne that their next station will be in Spain. The news was sent from Paris, where Mr. ad Mra Browne are visiting Mr. Browne's mother, who makes her home there. -After leaving here a few months ago they visited Mrs. Browne's parents in Panama. Mr. Browne was British consul here.
