IN LIBERTY BONDS O SEATTLE Northwest Auto Company Of fers to Accept Securities for Automobiles. PLAN MEETS WITH FAVOR Total of $43,850 Is Subscribed by Different Dealers and Employes i I-ast Week for Loan and In '. crease Due Tills Week. BY PAIL T VV.VT.V Patriotism ran high around automo- oiie row last week, and the shop boy me stenographer, the mechanic, the Salesman, the hnAVtAanA, 1 !. thl chauffeur or the shop foreman who """ possess at least a fbO Liberty Uond was rather much of a rarity. Of course, the committee men and their jieuienants missed a few, so there will oe a general rounding: up of the over looked this week, and it's more than likely that "the boys" will have placed ucib wr du,uuu worth of the second iriberty Loan before the drive is over. Buying Liberty Bonds wasn't the onlv evidence of loyalty. F. v. Vogler, j.i ciueii l ul me nortnwest Auto Com pany and the chairman of the automo bile dealers' T.lhArtv trained his heaviest guns on the drive anil announced. Faith Shown In Hnn.1 It seems that the wily Commodore of i,oiumoia stole an opportune march on his. compatriots. So far as is known, the Cole-Reo -liort - Marmon - Indiana Duplex distributor was the first auto mobile dealer in the West, at least, to STive such substantial testimony of his faith in the Liberty Loan. Mr. Vogler not only believes that Lib erty Bonds are a good investment, but lie thinks they're worth a bit more than the market price. Anyway, along with his offer to trade automobiles for them, he announced that he would pay a premium of 5 per cent for the bonds. It was necessary for the automobile committee to submit a partial report of its success at the Friday noon meet ing of the general Liberty Loan meet ing, so the figures herewith do not rep resent the final total. In C. M. Menzies, manager of the Northwest Auto Company, and M. O. Wilkins, president-manager of the dealers' association. Chairman Vogler' had two especially hard-working lieu- I tenants. With thi fn.r.r,-I,(nr. I tually every dealer and by drafting several salesmen, this duo was able to report I43.S50 worth of bonds sold. Cadillac is a good old name. It orig inally belonged to that hardy French man who' guided his handful of men through the wilderness to the spot where Detroit now stands. Later It be came much more widely known as the name of a motor car. It so happens that Harry Kaar is a member of the firm of Snyder & Kaar, who represent the Cadillac at Kewanee, Iowa. The name Cadillac evidently stands high in Mr. Kaar's estimation. for he will always have a Cadillac Kaar in his family. The name of his baby son, old enough to he photographed on the running board of the Cadillac, is Joseph Cadillao Kaar.
