NOT only does Oregon outdo the Old World in the number and variety
of major scenic features that are rapidly making her. in the eyes of
; all nations, a worthy rival of Alpine Switzerland at its best. but
throughout her thousand mountain valleys and canyons, scattered with won
derful prodigality, are numberless tinier gems of scenery. There is scarce a
township in the fringes of Oregon's western mountains that does not boast
its local bit of scenery "stamped with the tinier dies" and marvelously delicate
in its beauty. Such a bit is Silver Creek Falls, near Silverton, the historic
home town of Homer Davenport. 1 his is one or the iavonte outing pla
of that whole delightfully lovely locality.
