Himself, Rev. Mr. Page said, and bis

Promptly at 4 o'clock 200 mounted

as the coffin containing the body of
the Mayor was carried from the house
by firemen and policemen and placed
in the hearse, while departmental heads

to New York across the Brooklyn
bridge.
Loyal Tributes Overwhelming.

at $1000, which she was unable to furnish.
The deputies were seeking to place

when they were halted by a shotgun.
They used strategy to Induce Mrs.. Plet
to enter the barn, where they cornered
and disarmed her. Then she fought
them off with a club, which was taken
from her only after she had felled two
of them to the ground.
Mrs Plet gave her Husband S500 a
few months ago to go to Oakland and
buy seed and farm implements. In
stead, it is said, he spent the money In
a good time, and came to San Fran

good with his wife.
The money lender appeared at the
Plet farm several days ago with a Con
stable and a writ of attachment on the
hayricks, saying that Plet had not paid
the loan.
