of rooms at Hotel Gearhart for the

about mid-July.
Mr. and Mrs. Gay Lombard have also
arranged for a suite of rooms at Gear
hart Hotel for the season, and will ar
rive the first Of this week.
Mr. and Mrs Elliott R. Corbett left
Monday for a trio through Southern
Oregon and upon their return they will
occupy again their cottage at Gearhart.
Mrs. Henry Ladd Corbett arrived Mon
day, and will pass the rest of the sea

Breakers Opens Social Season.
BREAKERS. Wash., July 12. (Spe
cial.) The first social affair of the
Summer season at Hotel Breakers was
an "oyster bake" on Shoalwater Bay,
Saturday. The patrons of the hotel
drove over to the bay and passed the
day.

Mrs. C. H. Lewis and Miss Sallie
Lewis are expected this week to oc

for the rest of the season. The Mills
boys and Gordon Vocrhies, Jr., came
down Saturday to open the cottage,
and will remain indefinitely.
Judge Alexander Sweek, of Portland,
and his brldo, who are Just complet
ing a- wedding trip by motor, were
the first party to motor from the Sound
citv tu Hotel Gearhart this .season.
They arrived on the Fourth. They
also attended the regatta in Astoria,
and their guests included Miss Rhea
Joslyn and Miss Vapton, of Montana.
Mrs. N. E. Ayer and daughter. Miss
Margaret Ayer, arrived Thursday at
Hotel Gearhart to pass the rest of this

week was the marshmallow roast at
