A a re suit of the Investigations made Thurs day by a committee of state, city and county health officers, the seven babies In care of Mra. A. Miller at a amall baby home conducted at Twentieth and Kaleigrt streets, were ordered removed from her custody yesterday. The In vestigation had been made aa the re sult of the death of a ward of the Juvenile Court that was maintained there. Dr. Calvtn H. White, secretary of the State Board of Health, yester n.iy swore out seven complaints In the Juvenile Court, one for each child at the home. In which he set forth that they were being Improperly cared for, and their removal waa then ordered by the court. They were temporarily taken to the County Hospital. Child Labor Is Situect. Mrs. Millie R. Trumbull will deliver a lecture Monday night In the auditorium of the Kast Portland Branch Library. East Kleventh and East Alder street, on "Child Labor and Ita Consequence." Mrs. Trumbull has made preparations to Illustrate her lecture with a num ber of stereoptlcon views of the con ditions of child labor. Mrs. Trumbull is secretary of the State Child-Labor Commission. The lecture will be given under the ausplcea of the United Im provement Clubs Association and the iJa.it Side Business Men's Club, and will be the last In the civic course that has been given through the Winter by these organizations.
