POWELL DEAD Plonr-er Woman of 1$SS, Aged 78, Dlrs on Eal Side. After Illness lasting It months, Mrs. Martha A. Powell. 71 yeara old. a well- known Oregon pioneer of 1H2. died at her home at 711 East Main street Fri day. . Mrs. Powell crossed the plains with her father. John Mlllorn, who settled on a donation land claim on . Sandy Road, where Miss Mlllorn was married to John Powell, also a pioneer. Mr. Powell died In 11S1. Mrs. Powell lived on the old homestead tor 15 years and than moved to Portland. She Is sur vived by the following children: W. F. Powell. Columbia, Slough; T. C Powell. Nome. Alaska; 8. IX Powell, Portland; Mra. James M- BlOtt, Portland; Mrs. Carl Brandes. Portland. Norrla Sewell. of Portland, a grandson, - ajso survives the pioneer. - Mra.
