BEACH
SEASIDE. Or.. Aof. JO. rSpctsl.)
April weather ku visited Seaside
thi week. Nothing could be more
delightful than the bright, warm sun
shine between abowera which have
erred to pack the sand Into a good
firm footing tor horse and man. The
aunospbere la wonderfully cool and
fresh and sort bathing under such con
ditions Is absolutely of the best.
This week-end Seaside waa visited by
members of the "Hoo Hoo." who made
themselres at home at Hotel Moore, where
they banqueted and made merry to their
heart's content. Large posters of im
posing black cats decorate all the
fences and ralllnga in Seaside, and
. cleverly acted the part of advanre
agents to their cause. Not only did
the "Hoo Hoo" attract the Interest
of Seaside dwellers, but a large dahlia
fair, held at Seaside House, proved
very successful. Seaalde House is well
adapted by tts situation to fairs of any
kind. The large campus in front of the
buildings waa tilled with beautiful as
ters, dalalea and aweet peas, to say
aothlng of the dahilaa which were ex
ceptionally well developed.
Mrs. Van Houton. who has a cottage
near the hotel, won the first prise.
The aoll In that particular section of
the country Is excellent for raising
flowers, and Mrs. Van Houton showa
remarkable patience and skill with
hers. Not only were her dahilaa the
