In dress hats the prevailing brim is of a turned-down, yet wavy, na ture, coming to an inverted V over the face. These brims are ample all the way round, but particularly at the back, where liberal allowance is made for an abundance of hair. Some of these back parts of the brim look turtlelike, but when on a lady with plenty of hair to the back of her head, the oddness of the shape disappears. There are shapes whose rims are turned up at the left side. The large shapes are an inch or two wider in brim than last Season and some of the widest shapes have small low crowns. The crowns for picture hats generally are low, rang ing from about two to four inches.
