Many Letters Received. Indorsements from all sides are being received by the commltfee having in charge the details of the dinner to be given at the Portland Commercial Club Tuesday night, when the 500.000 Club" will be organized. At the dinner the per sonnel of the committees will be an nounced that are to canvass the city the following day and raise an annual fund of 100.000 for publicity purposes during the next two years. Julius Meier, C. Hlhberd and C. C. Chapman are the mem bers of the committee that is arranging for the dinner, while the details of or ganizing the "500,000 Club" are in the hands of W. J. Hofmann, George F. Johnson and F. B. Holbrook. At the dinner a number of short talks pertinent to a "greater Portland" and treating with some phase of the commer cial life of this city with a population of 600,000 will be given by representatives of the leading business interests of Portland. Dr. J. R. Wetherbee, president of the Commercial Club, will preside as toast- master, and the' committee has arranged the following programme of addresses: "Portland and a Half Million Financial Center," A. L. Mills, president of First National Bank. "Results From Advertising Oregon. Prospects for Half a Million Portland,"' Theodore B. Wilcox, president Portland Flouring- Mills Company. "Transportation. ' BODY WILLED TO DOCTOR Chester C. Holloway Thinks Ho Will Not lilve Out Term. Chester C. Holloway. the Los Angeles man who followed his truant wife to Tortland. shot her four times and was convicted after her recovery of at tempting to kill and sentenced to a , term of 10 years In the Oregon peni tentiary, avers that he will never live out his term. He has written a letter to a Portland physician bequeathing Mm his body for dissecting purposes. The authorities are doubtful as to whether Holloway is to be taken seri ously. A reply to his kindly proffer was made, declining the body and as suring him that he was entitled to a Christian burial "when the proper time comes." Holloway was taken to the penitentiary Friday to start his long term. COUNT TO BE SENT HOME Gfug von Gasscndorff, Charged With Swindling, leported. Importation from the United States is the penalty that will be meted out to Count Wenrlch Gfug von Gassen Uorff, of Germany, who was arrested some time ago on a charge of attempt ing to swindle an automobile firm. The Count will be started for the Atlantic Coast to? deportation. He will go in charge of an immigration official. It was learned lately that he was in an insane asylum in Germany, and that conse quently he is Illegally in the United States. Injury to his head caused by the falling of his horse is said to be responsible for .his present condition. During his stay at the County Jail his conduct has been exemplary. He has consented to deportation. April 1. It contains 60 rooms, all out side ones, each having hot and cold running water. Telephones will be In stalled in all the rooms.
