The 85th anniversary of the founding of Evening Star Grange. Patrons of Hus bandry, was celebrated yesterday after noon at the hall on the Section Line road m the presence of 200 members and guests. .Words of welcome were spoken by J. J. Johnson, the master, as the ex ercises began. Mrs. Mary S. Howard, the state secretary, delivered the main address on the anniversary oocaslon. Mrs. Howard congratulated the Grange on Its reaching its 36th birthday under so happy and prosperous circumstances. and with a membership larger than any other Grange m the state. She spoke of the pioneers who 85 years ago founded the Grange. "These pioneers," said the state sec retary, "have passed away, but their work remains, and we do honor to their memory. Only ten years ago this Grange celebrated its 25th anniversary, and at that time the membership was much smaller than at present, but you have gained in the ten years In membership and prosperity." A short historical sketch was read by" Mrs. L. McGrew, the only charter mem ber present. In which she reviewed the salient features of the Grange from its organisation. She said It was founded toy such men as Jacob Johnson, Father Plympton Kelly, H. C Campbell and other men who have since died. She also traced it down to the time it built and occupied the present hall with a membership of over 300. Incidental to the celebration papers were read by J. D. Lee on the late Judge John F. Caplea and Mrs. Zlnzer on "Why Oregon Students Should Attend Oregon Colleges." Professor D. A. Grout. As sistant Superintendent of Portland Schools, spoke on the question, "Should Pupils Study at Homer which ho an swered In the negative. A musical pro gramme also was rendered, and a ban quet was served at noon. How I Restore Nerve Force Every organ of your body is governed by a net work of nerve wires. These nerves convey the power which runs . the human machine. This power Is called nerve force. Nerve force is nothing but elec tricity. The reason any organ becomes weak Is because the nerves which control It lack electricity, or nerve force, the motive power of your body. This lack of nerve force is shown by weakness of any kind, whether In the stomach, liver, kidneys, heart or other organs. If your memory is poor, confidence and nerve all gone; sleep restless; it you suffer frequent headaches and your eyes are dull and heavy, it shows that your supply of nerve force is depleted. So many men try to build up nerve force by doping their stomachs with drugs. It is Impossible. What the nerves require is nourish ment nerve food. If there was any nourishment In drugs, they might do some' good, but you know there is not. Drugs are drugs, stimulants, narcotics, an tidotes, poisons, not food. Electricity Is nerve food nerve life. It soaks into your nerves and Is taken up by them Just as a sponge absorbs water. It nourishes and vitalizes the parts which drugs cannot reach. and vitalises the parts which drugs connat reach. Every dose of drugs that you put into your stomach weakens your nerves. Every time you kill a pain or an ache by stupefying the nerves with poisonous drugs you are hurting them, and any one can see that in time, by steady dosing, your nervous system will be com pletely broken down. . Electro-Vigor is a relief from the. old system of drug ging. It does by . natural means- what you expect drugs to do by unnatural means. It gives back to the nerves and organs the power they have lost, which is their life. Electro-Vigor is not an electric belt. The service I render is entirely unlike and better than the ordinary. I have devised new and scientific methods of treating men's diseases in all their phases. I cure cases that others -cannot cure, and cases that others can cure I cure in less time and without pain or possibility of injury. All my forms of treatment have been perfected along the lines of nature's requirements and are In exact har mony with the natural recuperative forces. Therefore, my cures are painless, prompt and thorough. Contracted Disorders The serious results that may follow neglect of contracted disease could scarcely be exag erated. Safetv demands an absolutely thorough cure in the least possible time. I have treated more cases of contracted disorders than any other physician upon the Paclflc Coast. My cures are thorough and are accomplished In less time than other forms of treatment require in producing even doubtful results. I employ remedies of my own devising, and my treat ment is equally effective in both recent and chronic cases. I Treat Men Only Tne vast multitude of men who have taken my treatment have not been disappointed. They know that I do not promise more than I perform. To them I have actually illustrated In the cure of their own cases the truth of what I claim namely, that my treatment is as cer tain to' cure as it Is that-my patient engages my services and follows my directions. My suc cess Is due not alone to education, experience, skl'l and scientific equipment, but to the fact that I limit my study and practice strictly to diseases and weaknesses of men. To male maladies alone I have earnestly and exclusively devoted 25 years of my life, and on them all my faculties are concentrated. Examination Free I do not charge for advice, examination or diagnosis. If yon call for a private talk with me, you wilf not be urged to begin treatment. If Im possible to call, write. Hours, 9 A.
