For the nomination of Joint Senator from Gilliam, Sherman and Wheeler counties. Jay Bowernian, of Condon, la candidate for renomlnatlon. He Is op posed for the nomination tn the primary election by Georse B. Bom-hill. Bower man Is unpledgod while Fourhil! agrees to support the Republican votera' choice for Senator. "The contest between Bowerman and Bourhlll." reports The Oregonlan cor respondent, "will be close. Bowerman was thought to be a sure winner on the start but the disclosure of the part he took In favor of the bills proposed at the IV7 session of the legislature by the Title Guarantee & Trust Company haa hurt him. Bowerman Is being fought by the temperance people, who charge that at the lo session of the Legislature he scoured the passage of a joker to the Condon City charter which annulled the vote by which Gilliam County was voted "dry" ta November, JftM.
