Miss Kathryn Shea was married to Chester A. Whltemore, hy the Rev. T'other McDevltt of the cathedral. The bride looked very handsome In a traveling sown of blue. Her bridesmaid. Miss EL McMahon, was also in blue. The groom was attended by Mr. a K. Zllly. The rooms were prettily decorated with chrys anthemums, ferns and palms. After the ceremony a breakfast was served to the immediate family, after which Mr. and Mrs. Whltemore left for Eastern Oregon, to bo absent several weeks. Kamusher-Nudelman. The wedding of A. Kamusher and Miss Nettle Xudelman was celebrated in the Foresters' Hall last Sunday evening at 5 o'clock. The ceremonies were conducted hy Rev. Mr. Abramson. The adjoining hall where the dancing took place was elaborately decorated with Oregon grape vine and evergreens. At the dinner tables many congratulatory tele grams were received from friends and relatives. The bride was dressed in a gown f silk net, over organdie and silk, and carried a very beautiful bouquet of Oregon chrysanthemums. Everitt-Tillocjs A very pretty wedding occurred last Wednesday morning at 8:30 at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Alexander Held, lone. Or., when tho marriage of their only dughter. Louie Newton Tillock to Fred erick E. Everitt took place. The cere mony was performed by Rev. J. E. Jones, lmnoatoy after which Mr. and Mrs. Ev eritt loft for a short tour in the Eastern jart of the state. They will bo at home after December 1. Rittenour-Yodcr. Miss Bertha Yoder was united in mar riage to Harry Chester Rsttenour, on Taesday at noon, Rev. R. Glllson perform ing the ceremony. The members of the Unitarian Alliance are devoting -a great deal of time to the preparations for their Christmas bazaar,. which Is to be held on December 3 and 4 in the lectuferoom of the church. Tho Knights of Pythias Uniform Rank gave a ball at the Armory Thursday even ing, which was the principal social event of the week. This was the annual ball of this branch of the order. The Knights. and their ladies appeared in full dress, as did most of their guests. Over 100 couples Joined in the dance. Mr. and Mrs. Art Harris entertained a large number of their friends at cards Tuesday evening at tho Geiser Grand Ho tel parlors. It was one Of the social events of the week. Mr. Hall and Mrs. Bam berger won the first prizes, and Dr. Mc Danlcl and Mrs. Muller were awarded the consolation prizes. An elegant luncheon was served In the dining-room at the close of the game. The ladles of the Alpha, Literary So ciety tendered a reception to Mrs. C. B. Wade, ex-nresident of the State Federa tion of Women's Clubs, and the visiting teachers In attendance at the State Insti tute, Tuesday afternoon at Elks' Hall. The decorations were pink and green. Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton are well ,and fa vorably known In Pendleton, where they have both lived for a number of years. Mrs. Susan Welch gave a pleasant after noon party on Wednesday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John F. Rob inson. Tho game for the afternoon's amusement was a drawing contest Each guest was given a slip on which was writ ten the name of some animal she was requested to draw on the blackboard and the other guests were to guess what it was. Tne one making tho greatest number of correct guesses was given a prize. Miss Ella Hexter succeeded In guessing all but three, and was awarded first prize, while Mrs, F. W. Tho Reedville Club has arranged for a scries of social dances, the first to be given Saturday next at the Ladd Hall, Reedville farm. ' The people of the community purpose having a Christmas tree Christmas eve, the programme to be provided by the pupils of the public school. The Reedville Literary Society is most promising this Winter, there being a good regular attendance and a hearty co-operation among Its members. Kan., in com pany with his wife, after making a tour of the Western States and Pacific Coast left for home Thursday, by way of the Oregon Short Line. Mr. McBoyle, for old times' sake, visited members of the Chalmers family In Washington County, and was accompanied by Mr. Alex Chalmers to the Oak Hill stock farm. In Yarnhill County, where they spent the day sightseeing, and, although he has traveled extensively and seen much, Mr. McBoyle was greatly Impressed by the majestic oaks, and took with him, as a i tcuiiuuer ul iuh ureun visit, a. uuiiuu ui their abundant mistletoe. Upon starting for home he remarked: "I am glad that I made a tour of the West at this time of the year, for I have greatly enjoyed the climates of California and Oregon, and, although Oregon is superior to Great Britain In Its resources, it reminds mo more of that country than any I have seen." Craven and daughters Trent to Portland this week to attend the wed ding of Miss Ota Robertson, sister of Mrs. Craven. Lewis Dewitt and wife are, visiting the family of R. E. Furgcson. Mr. Dewitt Is a brother of Mrs. Furgeson, and is a resident of Michigan. The firemen 'held their annual ball In the Auditorium, Thanksgiving night The function was attended by fully 300 people. Special motor ran from Dallas, which brought a large crowd. Music was fur nished by the Independence orchestra. The ladles' department of the Lewis and Clark Centennial Club will give a dance at this place next Friday night. They are endeavoring to raise a sufficient sum of money to place them In the fore ranks for winning the next prize given by the Lewis and Clark Ladles' Clubs, In dependence division having been success ful in securing the first pennant offered. They were married in 1S53, and settled In Illinois, where they resided until 1ST0, when they moved to Kansas, and agola settled oa the prairie. Selling their farm in 1SS2, they again moved westward, and settled In Beaver "Valley, Columbia County, Oregon. Two years ago they moved to Rainier, where they reside.
