"When the wreck was dis covered yesterday morning, It was thought that It was due to boys who had been playing In the neighborhood, and who knew that the fence, owing to the decay of the cement, was loose. Later, Tiowever, City Auditor Devlin received a telephone message stating that the dam age was done by girls, whose ages range from 15 to 17 years. His informant said that he was passing up tMadlson street about 10 o'clock Friday night, and he had seen four girls making a vigorous effort to push the fence over. "When it fell, he said, the girls ran away. He furnished a good description of the girls, but he de clined to give his name, as he said he did not wish to be detained as a witness. She took the ma chine, and paid him $27 on It. and the rest was allowed to settle the bill, making in all about $60 that he failed to turn in to the company. "Wool is still pouring Into Shan iko from the extreme southern and east ern part of the state, and the new town will again make good her claim as the greatest primary wool market In the world, the season having reached a point where it is a certainty that at least G.000.000 pounds of wool will be handled at this one point.
