CHICAGO. Feb. 22. Twenty years ago
Mayor Harrison, then a young man of
22 3 ears, wrote a. letter to William Dean
J How'clls, man of letters, and confided a
i simple request for the author's autograph.
The Mayor has just received an answer
from Mr. Howell", and after the long
wait the Maor now has Mr. How ells'
autograph. It Is appended to the ery
slip of paper on which the request was
made. It came in the envelope enclosed
at that time for the reply.
