The two story residence formerlr occupied by John Green, at the southwest corner of "Washington and Seventh streets, was yes terday afternoon deposited cafely on its new site, eaet side of Seventh street, be tween Yamhill and Taylor, on property belonfcin-; to the AInsworth estate. The rather stately edifice was safely moved a distance of three and a half blocks with out cracking the plastering or injuring the chimneys, so far as could be seen. The Morrison-street trolley wire had to be lowered after midnight to permit the building passing over it. As the cars had Quit running, the power was shut off from the trolley during the passage of the build ing at that point. North Coast Limited, Northern Paclflc See It. Foa Memorial Dat. Because of more room, the committee on memorial services for May 30 will meet today at 3 P. M. in G. A. R. Hall, corner First and Taylor streets. Representations are expected from each post of the city, each 'Woman's Re lief Corps, the several camps of the Sec ond Oregon Volunteers, wl.h their women's auxiliaries, and the Veteran and Naval Union. The leaves are gathered on the hillsides back of the city, and their value is the odor they exhale. Mrs. James Mackenzie and Miss Lilian E. Amos left yesterday for a. visit to England, Scot land and the Continent. They go as dele gates to the World's Woman's Christian Temperance Union convention, to bo held In Glasgow June 22 to 23, and will also at tend the International Temperance Con gress, which meets In London June 9 to 16. Thompson fountain, has returned from Vermont, and states that he has made all arrangements by which the fountain to be erected between the Plaza blocks, will be finished according to contract, by July 1.
