World's Largest Rare Beer Auction
Helping to
end youth
homelessness
New Avenues for Youth pres-
ents the 12th Annual Brews for
New Avenues – a series of events
celebrating craft beer and show-
casing the social consciousness
of the beer community. Since its
inception, Brews for New Ave-
nues has raised more than $1.7
Million for New Avenues for
Youth, a Portland nonprofit serv-
ing youth experiencing or at risk
of homelessness, with a focus on
prevention. This year’s goal is to
raise $250,000 to continue sup-
porting these critical programs
and services.
Brews for New Avenues,

Opera in the park presents
Rigoletto as its 21st annual con-
cert at 6pm on August 13th in the
Washington Park Rose Garden
Amphitheater. This year’s stars
include acclaimed baritone Luis
Ledesma in the title role; soprano
Aubry Ballaro in her Oregon de-
but as Rigoletto’s innocent daugh-
ter “Gilda;” and dashing Mexi-
can tenor Cesar Delgado as the
unforgettable “Duke of Mantua.”
Other principal artists include
bass-baritone Deandre Simmons,
whom many will remember from
last season’s production of AÏDA;
Portland favorites Richard Zeller,
Hannah Penn, and Jocelyn Claire
Thomas; and the Opera in the park
Portland chorus and orchestra. Ar-
tistic Director Keith Clark, winner
of the prestigious American Prize
for Opera Conducting, leads the
production.
One of Verdi's most beloved
operas, Rigoletto tells a captivat-
ing story of love, betrayal, and
from world-renowned brewers in-
cluding 3 Fonteinen, Ruse Brew-
ing, Sante Adairius Rustic Ales,
Block 15, and Logsdon Farm-
house Ales.
Hundreds of beer enthusiasts,
many of whom travel to Portland
from around the globe, are ex-
pected to attend this year’s event
for the unique draft lineup and
for the opportunity to buy rare to
almost-impossible-to-get beers.
The exclusive VIP event will
feature special pours, as well as
a silent auction with hard-to-find
bottles. The General Admission
event will then welcome all of
our guests for an additional silent
auction and the chance to bid live
on exclusive items.
Last year’s event raised more
than $260,000 -- a remarkable
achievement. “Brews for New Av-
enues is critical to our mission,”
said Lauren Eads, Director of De-
velopment & Communications.
“It’s incredible to witness beer
lovers from all around the world
come together to support young
people experiencing or at risk of
homelessness in our community.”
