The Clackamas Community Col- lege wrestling team has won the Na- tional Junior College Athletic Asso- ciation National Championship for the third year in a row. The diverse team outpaced sec- ond-place Western Wyoming by just 5.5 points during an April 28 tournament, keeping the champion- ship in doubt until the final round of the event where CCC’s 133-pound Zeth Brower earned a fall, securing his own individual national champi- onship along with the team. The three-peat makes Clackamas one of only four other teams in the history of the NJCAA to achieve the feat. (AP photo) ‘Melo’ reaches Top 10 Career Points NBA star defines greatness, coach says (AP) — Carmelo Anthony looked like he was headed for a forced retirement just a couple of seasons ago. Now, the Portland Trail Blazer is part of a truly exclu- sive club in the NBA. ‘Melo’ scored 14 points Monday night in Portland’s 123-114 loss to the Atlanta Hawks, moving him past Elvin Hayes for 10th place on the NBA career scoring list with 27,318. “If you’re in the top 10 of any- thing of all time, it’s a special mo- ment,” said Anthony, who is in his 18th NBA season and turns 37 be- fore the month is out.
