Page 10 September 27, 2017 Celebrating “100 Years Old” Bendix Minnieweather was born Sept. 9, 1917, that would make him 100 years old. He was a humble yet successful Black man who lived and worked in Portland, Oregon, a true entrepreneur, a Holy man who lived and worked for God. He was born in Louisiana and like so may others he moved to the West Coast to work on the Shipyards. He was not fortunate to have a proper education; you would never know it by his legacy. He worked in real-estate for several years owning more than a half dozen properties, he owned Mennie’s Restaurant on N. Mississippi and Failing Street and was CEO of Minnieweather Janitorial Service for over 30 years. His greatest accomplishments came from working for God, he was the Pastor and Elder of New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ. He has left a legacy that others would truly would want to emulate. — Love Always, Your family Happy Birthday Sherman Jackson From family and friends Arts & ENTERTAINMENT Three siblings from Portland comprise the 300 Watts String Trio.
